身上满是疖子、来自阿拉巴马州拉塞尔维尔的威廉.斯普鲁伊尔少校，以及受到水蛭感染、来自路易斯安娜州新奥尔良市的柯林斯中尉，从出现故障的P31上跳伞降落到缅甸北部丛林中后获救。迷失在丛林45天所经受的磨难让柯林斯处于极度消瘦而虚弱的状态。

Maj. Wm. H. Spruell, Russellville, Alabama,dressing boils and leech infections suffered by 1stLt. G. M. Collins, New Or leans, La., rescue after bailing out of his disabled P-31 over Northern Burma Jungle. Emaciated condition of Collins was due to hardships suffered while lost in jungle for 45 days.
